Located across the street from the Wang Center in the heart of the theater district, the Tremont is a perfect home base for entertainment. But don't worry—3 floors of hotel offices act as a buffer between your bed and the Roxy Complex's sound system. Each of the 322 guest rooms is equipped with large desks and data port lines. The recently remodeled bathrooms are enormous, though the rooms themselves feel a bit tight; suites are nicely sized. A tip from the concierge: choose rooms with the last 2 digits between 28 and 40, as they'll have better views of the city. Rates vary seasonally, generally between $179-249.

Slotted to open on Oct. 22, 2009, the W Boston hotel makes its dramatic and fashionable debut this year in the Theatre District. Formerly approved by the city as a Loews hotel, the project at Tremont and Stuart streets now is tentatively slated to be a hip and modern W hotel of about 220 rooms, with 100 luxury residential condominiums on the upper floors. The currently under-construction building, on a 26,000-square-foot lot between Warrenton Street and Tremont Street, is nestled next to the revamped Citi Performing Arts Center on Tremont Street.
Situated in a classic Boston brownstone, Milner Hotel offers a simple, homey, and more affordable alternative to the other hot-shot hotels in the Theater District, or rather, to other Boston hotels in general. The 64 “European-styled” rooms all feature new furniture, plush carpets, and cable TV. Continental breakfast included with room. Parking available nearby ($21/day). Singles $109+, doubles $129+, quads $180-190.
