Harvard Gardens is many things. For one, it is a local Beacon Hill haunt. During the day, a place where nearby MGH folk enjoy lunch. On the weekends, there is a brunch crowd. Dinner is served here featuring upscale comfort food and American favorites such a delectable pastas and delicate salads. However, the real Harvard Gardens is mostly known for it's great bar scene appreciated mostly by Beacon Hillers. Crammed into the long and narrow bar you will find a plethora of preppily clad 20 and 30 somethings looking for fun and someone fun. The bar is crowded, but the drinks are not that expensive. There is something here for everyone, just remember that unless you get there really early thursday - saturday- it is standing room only!
Homemade desserts like a Guinness float or a sinful "chocolate lovers" platter for two are worth a visit alone. With its location across t
he street from MGH, the bar enjoys one of the highest ratios of doctors and nurses of any establishment in the city.
The former drunk tank of the Charles Street jail, Alibi is a dark, sexy lounge at The Liberty Hotel in the Beacon Hill area. The original structure gives the place a mischievously eerie feel & is softened by yellow leather couches & charming staff. Alibi is strictly a bar, but you can order in lite bites from Clink upstairs. Drinks in this cool location come at a price with beers around $6-8, glasses of wine starting at $9 and mixed drinks around $8-10. Alibi offers bottle service as well. Dress code ranges from suits to cocktail dresses to dressy jeans.

La Grande Dame bar, named for the famous champagne Veuve Clicquot, is officially opening its first US Veuve bar in the Liberty Hotel, only the 3rd of it's kind in the world behind Germany and China. The Veuve bar will be located on the 2nd floor, adjacent to the swanky watering hole and restaurant, Clink. The Veuve Clicquot bar, just another reason to allow the Liberty Hotel to capture you.
75 Chestnut went through a major renovation this past year. Long gone is the stuffy restaurant that you would go to with your grandparents. 75 Chestnut now has switched the entire restaurant to be a more open and upscale neighborhood tavern. A great place to go for just a drink, or one of the best burgers in town. This place is the baby of Tom Kershaw, owner of Cheers and the Hampshire House.
Halloween fun: Friday October 31, 2008
Beginning at 5 pm and ending at last call, 75 Chestnut will be serving ghoulish drinks, and having a costume party for all of their patrons to attend.
