Teatro, located in the theater district overlooking the Boston Common, offers a modern approach to classic Italian dishes. The design of Teatro is both elegant and informal. Having celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2003, the Majestic is the second-oldest theater in Boston's Theater District. It was reopened by Emerson College in 1989 as the first Broadway-quality stage owned and operated by a college. The Majestic hosts professional groups like the Boston Lyric Opera as well as near-professional quality (but much less expensive) productions by Emerson students and the New England Conservatory. Originally built as a cinema in 1970, the Stuart Street Playhouse was converted into a live performance space called the 57 Theater in the summer of 1996. In the fall of 2000, the Theater was renamed Stuart Street Playhouse and showcased the long running hit I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Showing now, or coming up, the Stuart Street Playhouse will present RFK, A Portrait of Robert F. Kennedy.

The Citi Performing Arts Center includes Wang Theatre and The Shubert Theatre. Everything from Broadway shows with New York casts to famous mainstream musicians are presented here, along with other theater, music, dance, and opera productions. This newly renovated posh luxury hotel in the heart of Boston's Theatre District has undergone a $11 million facelift in 2008 which included revamped guest rooms, suites and public spaces. The renovated hotel boasts the addition of a $1 million art collection, a brand new ballroom overlooking the Boston Common park and a dramatic views of Boston's Theatre District. Since its modernization in 2008, the Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common has hosted a slew of celebrities including Mel Gibson and Robert DeNiro in town shooting "The Edge of Darkness."
