The former drunk tank of the Charles Street jail, Alibi is a dark, sexy lounge at The Liberty Hotel in the Beacon Hill area. The original structure gives the place a mischievously eerie feel & is softened by yellow leather couches & charming staff. Alibi is strictly a bar, but you can order in lite bites from Clink upstairs. Drinks in this cool location come at a price with beers around $6-8, glasses of wine starting at $9 and mixed drinks around $8-10. Alibi offers bottle service as well. Dress code ranges from suits to cocktail dresses to dressy jeans.

Clink, the chic eatery in the lobby of the Liberty Hotel, is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Clink also houses a fashionable and trendy hotel lobby bar that serves everyone from hotel guests, hip city dwellers, and suburbanites craving a taste of the sophisticated in town. There is sometimes a line to get in, so Th-Saturday, either expect to wait a bit, or try to get here before 10pm. The menu includes everything from small plates to shared dishes and the drinks at the bar are pretty pricey pours. Dress to impress and do not forget to check the old bank balance before heading over.
Sink into a banquette under the soaring lobby rotunda or slide into a seat next to an original jail cell and sup on small plates until you’re satisfied, be that two items or ten. Just drinks? Order one of forty wines by the pour or sample some of our chef’s style cocktails made with exotic herbs, fresh fruit purees and top shelf spirits.
In addition to lunch, dinner and drinks, breakfast is served each morning with a selection of fresh breads, pastry, fruits, cured meats, cheese and made-to-order entrees.

Allow yourself to be captivated with the Liberty Hotel (pardon the pun). This stately hotel was once the infamous Charles Street Jail that was a Boston institution for the criminally challenged from 1851-1990. With an amazing multi-million dollar renovation and utilizing the architecture of the original jail, you will now find the Liberty Hotel full of fashionable bars aptly named Clink and Alibi as well as Scampo, the new project of world renowned chef Lydia Shire. The lobby is gorgeous and decadent, and the rooms sumptuous, what more could you ask for from the Liberty? Free yourself from the other hotel chains and check out the new competition in town.

The BHP is an institution. Named "Boston's best dive bar" several years in a row, this is a must go to hole in the wall. During the day, the bar boasts an eclectic group of city folk that love to drink and hang out in a dark and musty bar. But at night, you will find the BHP crowded with recent college grads to mid-late 20 somethings looking for cheap drinks (they are here to be found) and a good time. Most crowded on the weekends post 10:30, the BHP, although dirty and crowded, gets into you and leave you coming back for more! Beers: $2-4 and mixed drinks $3-$5. CASH ONLY!
Yes, they use plastic pints and cups, the floor can be sticky, and the bathrooms are highly questionable (Guys, there isn't a stall so hold your number two if you gotta go) but its one of the best dive bars in Boston and if you're looking for the snobby "Seen and Be Seen" place, the BHP isn't it. Its a true Boston bar with one goal in mind: gettin' drunk and having a story to tell later on.

The Hill Tavern is Beacon Hill's neighborhood bar. Standing proud on bustling Cambridge Street, the Hill Tavern is the perfect spot for a great burger, big brunch, or tasty beer. The house burger contains seven ounces of top-flight ground sirloin, which arrives courtesy of Savenor's (Beacon Hill's top butcher), wood-grilled to juicy perfection and served with hand-cut fries. The clientele is mainly local 20's and 30 somethings that either enjoy the new seated patio, or stand in the crowded bar on a weekend night. Either it be a low key dinner with friends or a place to watch the Red Sox game, the Hill Tavern is the place to be. This is the best bar around!
Tip: Stop by weekdays, 4pm-6pm, and enjoy half-priced appetizers (chips and salsa, wings, chicken tenders). Also, if you're on a date, ask to be seated in the quiet, secluded side dining room which is partially obscured from the bar.
