Franko, a loyal employee for years, will serve you up a slice of Greek style pizza ($1.50)at this late-night pizza joint. Near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Newbury Street Pizza Pie-er is a small establishment with an interesting menu. They've expanded the traditional pizza to have an array of crusts (4), sauces (10), and toppings (34). The crusts and sauces are the largest differentiators that you don't see at other establishments, and it's refreshing to see a focus on healthier fare as well (this includes items such as whole wheat or multigrain crusts). Plenty of veggie and meat options to please anyone in your crowd, The staff is friendly, the tabletops resemble pizzas with lots of toppings, and the ambience is much more pleasant than you would assume from the location and the facade. When the other pizza options nearby can be greasy and college-infested, Pizza Pie-er makes for a cleaner, tastier option. Or dozens of options! Family owned since 1978, Supreme Pizza & Subs is an established favorite of the college crowd. Located within walking distance of Symphony station and the Berklee college of music, this cozy pizzeria offers both standard takeout service, as well as a dining area which seats up to 30. Though the name Supreme Pizza & Subs should give an idea as to the kind of menu fare offered, the restaurant also features variety of other choices, all with affordable prices. Calzones, Club Sandwiches, Roll-Ups, Pasta and Dinner entrees, and of course pizza, offered either as a full medium (12") or large 15") pie, or simply order by the slice. Toppings consist largely of old standbys like pepperoni, mushroom and sausage, though specialty toppings like feta cheese and roasted red peppers make an appearance on several of the specialty pies. Mary Baker Eddy founded the Church of Christ, Scientist (aka, the religion of Christian Science) which holds education as a basic tenant. This library building is a testament to this remarkable women. It includes exhibits, a shop, the Mapparium, Quotes Cafe and in the library both Reference and Research Rooms. The Mapparium is a must-see for any visitor (or resident). A stained glass globe of the world - it's truly a wonder to behold. It's also fun to see how the world has changed since it was created. You need to buy a timed ticket for entry. The Quotes Cafe is a little-known spot - quiet and with really good food. The "Hall of Ideas" is really amazing, digital projected quotes on all sorts of topics move around the floor, walls and fountain. To visit Mapparium and the upstairs exhibits there is a $6.00 admission fee ($4 for seniors/youth/students). But the Hall, shop and cafe can be accessed by anyone for free. Just across the river from MIT and around the corner from Newbury, this neighborhood bar doesn't really take on the character of either of its “neighborhoods.” Though there's a leprechaun on the menu and Guinness on tap, Crossroads is more about American football on the big screen and fries with your burger ($6.50). Lots of specials encourage patrons to stay and eat and drink through the game. Free appetizers during football games, free wings Tu and Th 9-11pm, and pizza on W with every pitcher. Stop by during football games to munch on the free appetizers put out every quarter. A Mediterranean Cafe serving up Italian-American cuisine. The menu features a Kobe beef burger (a reasonable $12), traditional pizzas, lobster ravioli, autumn risotto, and a variety of entrees. The atmosphere is modern, sleek, and uppity with silver/white walls and sleek metal accents. The seats are a modernized cork- so that's what they do with the discarded wine corks!. The double sided mirror hides the enormous flat screen when it's not running the latest game. This is a great new restaurant sure to have crowds gather. If you don't like the food, stick to the great bar drinks (Champagne, favorite fruit, favorite new cocktail- $10). A new favorite all around in the Back Bay...

Woody's offers terrific wood-fire oven pizzas, when you walk in you smell that slightly smoky smell from the oven. They also have salads and sandwiches for the non-pizza eating among us. A full bar occupies one side of the space. It's a great place to come to watch the game and eat and drink well while doing it. Because it's slightly out of the way, Woody's is great for lunch because you can always get a seat. That's not true on a weekend for dinner! Woody's does not accept reservations or separate checks. They do have a 2 credit card maximum on each table.
