Thin crust pizza in Beacon Hill. They are always bustling with Beacon Hillers waiting to snap the daily pizza, with unique toppings and deli combinations. The family-style dinning area keeps pizza friendly. Take-out is a good alternative as delivery time can often be 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Todd English's most affordable restaurant, Figs offers pizza like no other you're likely to have ever eaten. Large, free-form creations are unique for two savory reasons: fresh, crispy flatbread crust and absolutely bizarre topping permutations (asparagus, wild mushroom purée, fontina cheese, figs, prosciutto...all on your pie!). With combos like this as well as others exploiting ham, chicken sausage, and more; vegetarians and meat-lovers alike will rejoice. Equally creative collages appear in a wide array of appetizers and pastas. A note of caution for would-be daters: the quaint location is pretty cramped, and you may be separated from your sweetie by barrier-like table-top trays upon which your pizza is served. Pizzas (feed 2) $11-17.
Since 1971, Nino's has been serving up homemade pizza sauce, dough, and meatballs. Their menu includes all the fixings, including a wide variety of sandwiches, and Italian plates. Also, the restaurant serves beer, wine, and malt beverages. More of a place for a quick bite, rather than a leisurely meal.
If you really, really need to use the bathroom there's one in the back, but we recommend waiting till you get home, if you can.
Eat in, take out, or delivery for this neighborhood Italian joint. Pizza's are large and inexpensive. A large menu with a variety of choices at different price points. Open late for the after bar crowd.

The appeal of Beacon Hill’s Hi Spot Deli is that it’s an anomaly in an area of over-priced fare including the uber-chic Mooo and Scollay Square. Looking for a quality lunch at a reasonable price? This downtown Boston fave is the place to go. Once you make it through the lines of eager patrons—they have a stellar selection of deli goodies including a killer Reuben sub and their “signature plate” which is a salsa-infused chicken creation with rice pilaf. For those looking for greasy spoon alternative, Hi Spot also serves up pizza.
Harvard Gardens is many things. For one, it is a local Beacon Hill haunt. During the day, a place where nearby MGH folk enjoy lunch. On the weekends, there is a brunch crowd. Dinner is served here featuring upscale comfort food and American favorites such a delectable pastas and delicate salads. However, the real Harvard Gardens is mostly known for it's great bar scene appreciated mostly by Beacon Hillers. Crammed into the long and narrow bar you will find a plethora of preppily clad 20 and 30 somethings looking for fun and someone fun. The bar is crowded, but the drinks are not that expensive. There is something here for everyone, just remember that unless you get there really early thursday - saturday- it is standing room only!
Homemade desserts like a Guinness float or a sinful "chocolate lovers" platter for two are worth a visit alone. With its location across t
he street from MGH, the bar enjoys one of the highest ratios of doctors and nurses of any establishment in the city.
