Rainbow-striped signs on the end of Newbury appropriately mark out this treasure-trove of paints in any and all colors, from quinacridone magenta to viridian green. House paint (tubes of art paint $2-35) fills the 1st floor, the store's specialty of fine art supplies (including oils, brushes, canvases, and pens) adorns the 2nd, and the 3rd floor is a non-profit space for local artists to exibit their work. Daily discounts of 20-50% make Johnson very reasonably-priced.
