Picco (Stands for Pizza and Ice Cream Company) is a charming restaurant located in the South End on Tremont Street with delicious food and a lovely outdoor seating (when weather permits). The restaurant definitely has a pizza specialty but also serves a delicious chicken parmagiana sandwich, salads, home made pastas, and fish tacos. They serve ice cream as well, and have many flavors to choose from. The pizza is cooked in a flaming brick oven, that you can see from inside of the restaurant! The staff are friendly, and the food always tastes very fresh.
Visit their website to learn about their special events!
Here are a few 'nice to knows' about Picco: There is a $10.00 minimum on all charges. Delivery is free from 5-10pm everyday to the South End, Back Bay, and Bay Village. The whole menu is available for take-out and delivery. Reservations are only available for parties of 8 or more.
The Boston Globe praised the decor as "quaint, brightly lit, and secretly upscale", but dismissed the "charred yet underbaked" pizzas[1]. The Phantom Gourmet was more enthusiastic, noting that "slices and scoops spare no expense with gourmet ingredients" and that the "retro décor evokes an old school ice cream parlor"[2].

Sibling Rivalry, a restaurant located on Tremont Street in the South End, was started by two brothers. The brothers Kinkead, both chefs at the restaurant, have their own menus-diverse in nature and have to utilize the same ingredients while preparing a variety of dishes. Sibling Rivalry has what is called a "Chef's Bar," where people can sit and watch the kitchen staff in action. The bar and wine list is extremly creative, not to mention fresh. Sample menu items from Chef David's side of the menu include: "Pan Roasted Veal Chop Fontina Cheese Fonduta, Black Truffle Jus and Caramelized Onion and Potato…$38.00," "*Barbequed Lamb Chop Lollipops with Roast Acorn Squash and Creamy Brussels Sprouts and Bacon Gratin...$32.00"--and from Chef Bob's menu: "Boneless Short Ribs of Beef with Roast Beets, Ragout of Salsify, Pearl Onions and Carrots, Mashed Potatoes & Horseradish Cream…$28.00," "*Pancetta Wrapped Monkfish with Celery Three Ways: Braised Celery Hearts, Celeriac Puree and Celery Salad with Truffle Vinaigrette…$26.00."
The bar at Sibling Rivalry is also a happening place and serves a variety of inventive cocktails with an extensive wine list.

Greek themed deli with fresh meats, unbelievable good bargain hot meals, and meatballs that are out of this world. Extensive wine cellar. Also sells beer, coffee all day, and convenience store needs with fresh vegetables as well. A menu stock full of old world greek recipes like mousaka, spanakopata, and pastichio that change daily, and soups like avgolemono (chicken, egg, and lemon rice) and creamy chowders. Prices for lunch range from $8-$12. This recent South End addition is owned by George Tsaousidis and Anna Barounis who stock the best food, grocery essentials, and wine and beer for the South End resident that is looking for a local one stop shop. The bodega of my dreams.

No frills about it. That is how Emilio's runs their business. Good food cheap and fast. Consistency is the name of the game for this busy South End takeout and delivery spot. If you are looking for decent pizza at a decent price, you found your spot. From large salads stocked with freshly grilled chicken to calzones and sandwiches, Emilio's will not allow you to be hungry for long. Although not the best pizza pie around, it wins the prize for not letting people down. Emilio's has a small outdoor eating area for good weather.
Emilio's offers free delivery within its delivery area with a minimum $8 order. There is a $2 charge for delivery outside their area. Also while they take credit cards, there is a $1 credit card charge.

This place has the buzz. Situated in the South End, with the atmosphere of an artist's studio, you feel as if you're attending a great dinner party. Relax and take in the sounds of jazz and sip on a martini or a glass of wine. The food is fabulously yummy with fare from Moroccan to Italian, making any craving satisfied here. The best thing about this place, other than its funky vibe and hip atmosphere? It's open late. Get your food on until 2am, nightly.
The Beehive will be hosting a Santa Christmas Brunch on Sat. Dec. 20th from 11:30am-3pm. There will be carol singers and photos with Santa. Families are welcome!

This is an old neighborhood stand-by. Basic quick grill food and subs. Quick service, solid food, in a very unpretentious shop. Nothing fancy, just the basics.

While you may feel like a grown-up by taking your date out for a round of cocktails and sambusas (fried dumplings, $7) after a performance at the neighboring Boston Ballet, it's pretty hard to ignore that sexy Addis also appeals to the kid in each of us. The straw tables and low, stool-like chairs hark back to the days of childhood tea parties, and the simple fact that you can eat with your hands can turn even the most mature college student into a grinning gradeschooler. The delicious dishes—a large variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian entrees—are served with generous amounts of fluffy, white injera, a spongy crepe-like bread that doubles as your utensil. The combination plates (starting at $15) are the perfect way to try different entrees, but most options are already a steal at $7-11. After the sweet honey wine ($5/glass, $20/bottle), sober up with a cup of after-dinner coffee—you won't find a better caffe mocha anywhere else. Reservations accepted for 5 or more, otherwise expect a wait on weekends.

A subterranean space in the South End laden with dark mahogany and fringed lampshades gives Icarus a clubhouse-tinged-with-art-nouveau-sophistication feel. A classical statue of Icarus presides over a refined crowd and the professional presentation of multi-sensoral delights such as classical guitar. Live jazz is now offered on Thursday and Friday nights from 7-11pm with a ever evolving roster of New England Conservatory talent. Food that is as lovely as it is indulgent (entrees $21-32). A wide variety of meat dishes, from Foggy Ridge rabbit to skate wing (both $28), and a creative blending of flavors (Grilled Shrimp with Mango and Jalapeno Sorbet, anyone?) exemplify fusion cuisine at its finest. The decadent chocolate molten souffle cake with raspberry sauce (for two, $16) is the perfect finish to a pampered and elegant foray into the South End.
