Originally built as a cinema in 1970, the Stuart Street Playhouse was converted into a live performance space called the 57 Theater in the summer of 1996. In the fall of 2000, the Theater was renamed Stuart Street Playhouse and showcased the long running hit I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Showing now, or coming up, the Stuart Street Playhouse will present RFK, A Portrait of Robert F. Kennedy.

Built in 1839, and at different times a church, synagogue, boarding house and Prohibition-period speakeasy, this building is currently split between staging Shear Madness, the longest running comedy in American history, and the infamous Blue Man Group Tubes, best described as performance art—drums, splashing paint, and rolls of toilet paper combine to produce an indescribable, gleefully childish sensory experience. Tickets $46+. Student rush tickets are often available, beginning at 10am on the day of show; ushers see the show for free (call at least 5 days in advance). The Citi Performing Arts Center includes Wang Theatre and The Shubert Theatre. Everything from Broadway shows with New York casts to famous mainstream musicians are presented here, along with other theater, music, dance, and opera productions. Dick’s Beantown Comedy Vault – Casual Boston Comics with Boston attitude. Catch a glimpse of Boston through the eyes of local comedians.
