Posh Radius has everything most of its upscale competitors lack: classic but hip style; unpretentious, out-of-this-world service, and food so good it'll make you weak at the knees. Radius restlessly reinvents its menu every month, and will personalize 6- and 9-course tasting menus ($85 and $125). The soothing red glow softens the minimalist dining room, and the attention to detail extends from meticulously prepared dishes that resemble works of art to bud vases in individual bathroom stalls. While the prices may be steep, don't expect anything other than top-notch at Radius. Appetizers $12-17. Entrees $27-42. Desserts prepared by pastry chefs whose awards litter the downstairs hallways, $9-15.

Boloco is a "healthy" fast food joint, with many locations throughout Boston. They specialize in burritos and smoothies, however, they also serve salads. This restaurant has about ten, two seater tables, and a window bar. They offer creative, fresh burritos. If you are tech savvy, you can order online before you arrive- for either take-out or eat-in. This place is usually speedy, and used to serving doctors and professionals on the go. Hours are Monday-Friday 7am-9pm, and Saturday/Sunday 7am-6pm. They serve breakfast as well! Boloco has been rated the Best of Boston by Boston Magazine for 2007 and 2008.

Cosi's make-your-own sandwiches come in one, two, or three toppings, and although they are delicious, they don't come cheap. Kids will love the bread, which is baked in a wood-burning oven before your eyes. It's almost always warm and delicious. Toppings such as curry chicken, smoked salmon, and caramelized onion are in abundance, but standard fare is available, too.
For dessert, try the ultimate "sandwich": marshmellows, Hershey bars, and graham crackers, served with a mini crackling fire and an iron pot for melting.
This location has an outdoor patio and seating area...of of the few in the Financial District.

The burritos are HUGE and the ingrediants are always fresh. Andale also has a great catering service at a pretty reasonable price (for downtown Boston). Their catering specialty is a make-your-own burrito bar which is accompanied by plenty of sides and sauces. Andale is always a great lunch option - tasty and reliable.
Super-fresh ingredients, assembled with care in the right proportions. They get the authentic aspect down pretty well for the East Coast- not many places even have mole or tamales, let alone great mole and tamales- but my favorite is a gringo special: "low carb" grilled veggie burrito. The way I get it (pintos, guac, no cheese or sour cream) is only 4 or so points on wieght watchers and it is delcious and super filling!

There are plenty of seats if you decide to eat in. They have regular submarine style sandwiches as well as daily specials like meatloaf and mashed potatoes, baked ziti, chicken and broccoli, etc. They also serve breakfast all day, get two eggs, toast and home fries for $2.75. Everything on the menu is more than reasonably priced (a cheeseburger runs $2.99) and is prepared fresh to order. The helpings are more than generous, and the service is prompt and efficient; it's rare that you're ever waiting more than 10 - 15 minutes for a call-in order. Most fare is in the $4-6 range. The staff are also super friendly.

In the shadow of the now defunct and much sketchier Martin's Townhouse is Biddy Early's, a divey financial district standby with a diverse clientele. Totally dependent on the office lunch and after-work crowd (they close on weekend evenings) Biddy's offers good service and good value. Step inside on the lunchbreak rush and you will notice that the bar is packed with various people, like bikers to verizon union workers to businessmen. The bartender, Neimh is awsome. She is at the top of her game everyday. Never forgeting about anyone, even when the house is packed!! An upscale dive with buckets of beer at $15 for 5 bottles, Juke box, decent food at lunch and dinner.
