Service is friendly and professional during the day, and nicely starched white tablecloths are a plus. The clients are mostly corporate/downtown professionals and some tourists during the day. A safe bet for weekday lunch.
On Thursdays there is a great trivia crowd and then after you can play Rockband 2 in the back.
On Friday and Saturday nights the tablecloths come off and the back room is cleared to make room for the dance floor complete with disco lights and great DJ. Crowd is lively and good looking as are the bartenders who are quick and know what they are doing which is hard to find in night clubs. Great beer selection and with 20 beers on draft and 15 bottle beers which are kept on ice so they are always fresh. No martini list but if you ask, the bartenders will make you anything you can think of or they will surprise you with something new. The $2.50 Bud Lights bottles and $2 Coors Light Drafts are a plus.

An after-work crowd de-stresses over beers and quesadillas in this financial district hangout. Come weekend nights, however, Boston's only Irish-Mexican cantina morphs into a crowded but unpretentious spot for college students and professionals alike to dance and drink to their hearts' content. Even the bathroom sign, “Women/Damas/Lassies” adds a trilingual touch. With 2 floors, 3 bars, a pool table, and a DJ F-Sa churning out Top 40 tunes, what more could you ask for? Traditional bar food with a Mexican twist ($5-9) served 11am-9pm. Cover Th-Sa $5 after 9pm.

Located in Boston's Financial District, An Tain is a restaurant and bar that transforms into a loud, funky dance club later in the night. It is trendier and more sophisticated than its neighbors Jose McIntyre's, Coogan's and the Purple Shamrock. As the evening carries on, more music and dancing become a bigger factor at An Tain. Another Pro DJ (David Natola) comes to play a stirring mix of hip hop, modern techno, house and dance music that sends the energy through the rafters. Those who are hip hop lovers! you should not miss Saturday nights here. A line begins early as DJ Steve Aprilli shows how it is done the right way. The proprietor is onsite everyday which makes for a well run, and comfortable atmosphere for everyone. That An Tain can successfully be a dining room, bar and dance club in such a small space makes it a venue worth checking out again and again.
Tip: The "No Yankee hats" rule, posted prominently above the bar, is indeed enforced--especially during Sox-Yanks games. Wear at your own risk.

Would you like sesame ribs ($5) or a lobster tamale ($9) with your Big Kahuna Polynesian Pupu Platter ($18)? Despite being a little culturally confused, this sleek, chic, brand new tapas bar boasts a unique selection of lunch and dinner plates. Wear something tight and make it a night; no hats, ripped jeans, or sneakers. Feel the pumping bass from the speakers on all 3 of Sanctuary's enormous levels, whether you're hanging out in the downstairs VIP lounge or sipping the already famous sangria (5 varieties, $7/glass) at one of the bars upstairs.

The Mediterranean Grill, or more commonly referred to as "the Med" is a roaring favorite among the Financial District lunch crowd. Always busy between 11:30-2, this lunch favorite has a million choices to feast on from wraps, sandwiches, hot plates, pizza, soups, and rice dishes. Specials change daily and usually have a crowd that follows them religiously. The Med takes all major credit cards and cash.

While patrons have said that Nunzio’s Pizzeria in Boston’s Financial District is more style than substance, everyone agrees that this Italian restaurant in the outskirts of Faneuil Hall boasts some killer pizza. The joint also specializes in subs and wraps including the Aphrodite (roasted turkey, garlic mayo and avocado spread on wheat) and the grilled chicken Caesar wrap. Great lunchtime eatery for those shopping in the Faneuil Hall area.

Vintage Lounge’s ultra-sleek ambience attracts a mix of young professionals, Financial District heavy hitters and collegiate hipsters looking to swill an after-work cocktail and munch on the restaurant’s stunning selection of Spanish appetizers known as tapas. The contemporary couches found near the bar area inspires conversation and the décor almost--but not quite--overshadows the glittery crowd. Definite late-night hotspot that seems more like an exclusive NYC tapas bar than a typical, Beantown haunt.

I know it's a chain and that Starbucks owns it, but they actually have the best frappuccinos anywhere. I don't what's different about them, but they're very good.
