Cuffs, the bar of the Jurys Boston Hotel is a great place to relax and have a drink if you are an out of towner staying at the Hotel or if you are a Boston resident who enjoys hip and fun hotel bars. Set in the basement, this is a hotspot for a variety of ages: mostly the 20-40 something set. The outdoor area is sunken, so although you are in the middle of a busy area in Boston, you feel secluded.

Though it's much more expensive than Cambridge's offerings, the food is only slightly better, meaning you're paying for location in the Back Bay. Which, if you're sitting outside on a nice day, might be worth it. Try one of the Tandoori Specials made on their traditional clay oven, such as the filling Tandoori Mixed Grill ($22) or Tandoori Rack of Lamb ($25). The menu spans the range of classic North Indian offerings: tandoori specials and a wide array of chicken, lamb, beef, seafood, and vegetarian dishes (entrees $15-25). Dim lighting and intimate tables create a romantic setting, but it is not uncommon to see power-lunchers or larger groups chowing down. Your best bet is to enjoy their lunch buffet (M-F 11:30am-3pm, $9; Sa-Su noon-3pm, $12) while sitting on the huge outdoor patio. Legal Sea Foods is a culinary classic on the east coast. A Boston-based chain Legal Sea Foods offers a variety of high quality sea food. The clam chowder has been served at the last seven presidential inaugurations. The food and service are consistently great. Located in the Prudential Building- Legal Sea Foods attracts the mall walker and the couple on a serious date. Expect lines, and try the chowder! Live jazz during Sunday Brunch.

Bowling, billiards, and a stocked bar. What else could you ask for out of a location? This Back Bay location, Kings, has it all. Stop in to enjoy disco bowling or your turn at being a pool shark. King's can be rented out for your company office party, or perfect for the pair of 2 that wants to duel over the pins. Pardon the pun, but if you are looking to "score" a good time, this is the place for you. Hours = M 5pm-2am, Tu-Su 11:30am-2am

This is a cute restaurant with limited seating, making the experience extra special. The menu varies with the season, but almost never fails to satify. Creative ingridients superbly put together. A great first date place, just make sure you go early to get a table. There is a patio in the summer, and take out is available.

Thai cuisine- that combines gentle spices and often a coconut milk, or something to off-set kick. Part of the Asain food catagory, Thai is a great alternative to your traditional General Taos- on the high end scale. For a great judge of a good dining place, it's been opened for a while on Boylston, and always draws a crowd.

Atop a glass-roofed fitness club, this restaurant-cafe and 2 bars cater to the area's “guppie” (gay-yuppie) crowd. Familiars will know that the “club” monicker is deceiving: Club Cafe is more restaurant than bar, and certainly not so much club, making it a good place to actually have conversations. The fun, chic video bar features a VJ on weekend nights, drawing both young and old, and though no dancing goes on, the trendy techno music makes Club Cafe a great pre-game stop before you hit up Machine or The Estate. A piano bar entertains those with more subdued tastes, and W karaoke caters to those who'd rather make music than listen. Weekday lunch is popular, as is Su brunch ($15). Beer $3-3.50, mixed drinks $4-5. Casual. Voted best Gay and Lesbian nightspot.

Globe bar is one of those sometimes overlooked, but great staple bar when you want to kick back with your friends and spend the night remembering funny stories. The almost always Irish bartenders will serve you up draft beers with an Irish smile- just don't cross them. The bar is narrow, with a tiny opening for groups to gather in the back. There is an upstairs overlooking the bar, but normally it's reserved for parties. In the summer, Globe's outdoor seating is a hot commodity during lunch and dinner. All the Copley workers scammer to get a seat. The menu is casual, and includes sandwiches, burgers, and salads.
