The Coop (as it is commonly known) is a retail store owned by its members: Harvard and MIT students, faculty, staff, and other affiliates. Founded in 1882, The Coop operates student-oriented stores offering a wide selection of textbooks, general-interest books, office supplies, stationary, music, prints and school insignia merchandise, including Harvard and MIT gear. Members are entitled to annual rebates based on their purchases; all for a $1 annual fee. You do not have to be a member to shop here, however. Anyone affiliated with Harvard may join by going to the Cashier's Office in one of the seven Coop locations and paying a $2 annual membership fee. Other locations include: the MIT Coop in Kendall Square, MIT Coop at Stratton, Business Coop at Spangler, Law School Coop at Pound Hall, and the Medical Coop on Longwood Avenue in Boston. The tend not to answer their phones during normal business hours.

The Channing Laboratory is a scientific laboratory that is affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. They specailize in bacteriology, chronic disease epidemiology and virology. The Channing Laboratory was originally the Channing Street Home for Sick and Destitute Women, which served women suffering from tuberculosis in the late 1800's. In 1958, the establishment closed it's clinical center and became more scientifically focused.

This is a building that is associated with Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. The programs housed within this center are focused on medical education and research.

The Harvard Institute of Medicine is a research and medical facility located in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area. This Harvard Medical location is affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

The Warren Alpert Building is part of Harvard Medical School. Recently built in 1992, the Warren Alpert Building houses part of the Harvard Medical School academic programs. The mission of the progams housed in this building is to foster scientific creativity.
