This Starbucks Location is within the Longwood Medical and Academic Area of Boston. It is common to see medical students studying, doctors grabbing that greatly needed java, and scientists grabbing a frappicino. It is common to see a line almost out the door, and while there are plenty of seats, they are usually taken. The staff are very nice, and always willing to personalize your order. If you can find a seat, it would be a great place to study or read a book.

Boloco is a "healthy" fast food joint, with many locations throughout Boston. They specialize in burritos and smoothies, however, they also serve salads. This restaurant has about ten, two seater tables, and a window bar. They offer creative, fresh burritos. If you are tech savvy, you can order online before you arrive- for either take-out or eat-in. The food is made quickly, as they are used to serving doctors and professionals on the go. Hours are Monday-Friday 7am-9pm, and Saturday/Sunday 7am-6pm. They serve breakfast as well! Boloco has been rated the Best of Boston by Boston Magazine for 2007 and 2008.

This popular (and reliable) restaurant chain is known for it's brick oven pizzas, pastas, and of course bread! This location is close to Children's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and a range of colleges. Particularly helpful for parents who have children in the hospital, this Berticci's is very accomodating and willing to meet your needs. They also offer takeout (for you to pick up). The only downside to this restaurant is that it is hiding within a research facility- so just look for Blackfan Circle across from Children's Hospital. Betucci's is open Sunday from 11am-9pm, and Monday through Saturday from 11am-10pm. Credit cards accepted include MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and Diner's Club.

Rebecca's cafe has a few locations throughout Boston. They are known for their yummy sandwiches, desserts, and lunches. They offer corporate and special event catering, as well as eat-in and take-out. If you are in the Longwood Medical area, this is a great spot to grab a meal- or a fresh baked cookie! Yum!

While Sbarro's name may be lacking in vowels, its fast-food style cuisine is always decent and satisfying. This restaurant, a part of a national chain, is located within the Longwood Galleria in the hospital district. Sbarro primarily serves New York style pizza by the slice. Their other fare (pasta, breadsticks, and the like) are somewhat less popular but are still a tasty alternative. A combo with a drink isn't as cheap as one might expect at a pizza chain--After tax, it can be almost $10 for a skimpy serving of food. If you're looking for a slice during the "lunch hour", beware! Your quick lunch break may turn into an extended affair while waiting in long lines filled with medical professionals from the area.

Souper Salad is a unique "semi" fast-food restaurant. This one is on the corner of Longwood Ave and Brookline Ave. This restaurant is unique in the fact that you pay a flat rate for all-you-can-eat soup and salad. This is an alternative to the many fast-food choices that are not so healthy.

Dunkin Donuts is one of the Northeast's most popular coffee and donut shops. They originated right here in Massachusetts and are known for their fresh brewed coffee, really great donuts, muffins and bagels. There are probably about 100 branches throughout Boston. A great place for coffee during the morning...or anytime for that!
