Kerri Platt is the owner of this shop, in which you will find six or seven thousand bottles of wine. The wine runs a wide range of price, from $7 to hundreds of dollars. The philosophy is that there are very good wines that are inexpensive, and they seek out excellent deals as well as hard-to-find vintages. This is the kind of place where you can walk in and say that you're not ready to purchase anything, but had some questions. They'll take the time to answer anything, as the staff are extremely knowledgeable. With this kind of focus on quality and education, you will want to come back time after time and quit wasting your money on bottles of wine that don't make the grade. This isn't the only cigar bar in the North End, but it's a very nice one. You can smoke cigarettes and cloves if they don't want a cigar, and you can sit and smoke and chat for a while. Most of Boston is a smoke-free zone, so finding this kind of venue is a great treat for those nicotine-challenged residents of our fair city. The setup has some warm and cozy, discrete clusters of luxurious seating. The beer selection is limited, but they have some nice wines.

Maria herself seems like she is a bit of a stern mother who would have slapped you across the head with a spoon if you even tried to put a single grubby finger in the pasta sauce before dinner time. Don't look at me like that, you know what I'm talking about. Her hands are those of a woman who has worked all her life. While you're at it, pick up a few cookies to take home, they are worth bringing back for the rest of the family.
