Having celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2003, the Majestic is the second-oldest theater in Boston's Theater District. It was reopened by Emerson College in 1989 as the first Broadway-quality stage owned and operated by a college. The Majestic hosts professional groups like the Boston Lyric Opera as well as near-professional quality (but much less expensive) productions by Emerson students and the New England Conservatory. This newly renovated posh luxury hotel in the heart of Boston's Theatre District has undergone a $11 million facelift in 2008 which included revamped guest rooms, suites and public spaces. The renovated hotel boasts the addition of a $1 million art collection, a brand new ballroom overlooking the Boston Common park and a dramatic views of Boston's Theatre District. Since its modernization in 2008, the Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common has hosted a slew of celebrities including Mel Gibson and Robert DeNiro in town shooting "The Edge of Darkness." The hotel also boasts a stunning in-house restaurant called Jer-Ne.

Teatro, located in the theater district overlooking the Boston Common, offers a modern approach to classic Italian dishes. The design of Teatro is both elegant and informal. The Citi Performing Arts Center includes Wang Theatre and The Shubert Theatre.
