The incessant chatter of over 140 languages, from Spanish to Greek to Japanese to Russian, might cause you to run over to a nearby CVS for some aspirin before you return for one of the small group, private, or semi-private classes. TEFL (teaching certificate), TOEFL, and ESL courses of varying lengths and intensities are available during the morning, afternoon, and evening. Prices vary considerably; check the website for language and course-specific information and prices. Translation and interpreting services available upon request.

Joint Ventures offers an array of services: physical therapy, accupuncture, massage, personal training, nutritional counseling, podiatry and aqua therapy. The facility also houses the Yoga Mala yoga studio (separate listing below).
Formerly the site of Burrito Max, Boca Grande still fills the burrito needs of folks in Kenmore Square.
It is open daily from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm. The restaurant provides Wi-Fi. This is a usual haunt for BU students, it has food at reasonable prices.
Cornwall's migrated across Kenmore Square into new digs earlier this century but it
still has a stellar selection of beers and ample pub grub to suit its customers.
Located next to the Kenmore Square MBTA stop on Beacon Street, UBurger consistently provides some of the best burgers in Boston. Claiming themselves, "Above All Burgers", UBurger offers a variety of interesting burger combinations, from traditional - the "UCheeseburger" comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and a house spread - to innovative; the Stunt Double Cheeseburger comes with spicy pepper jack cheese, sliced jalapenos, and banana pepper rings. If you want to make your own burger, UBurger provides a large array of different sides for you to add on, including four different types of pepper, seven different sauces, and six types of cheese. While the "UChicken sandwiches" and "Udogs" offered are not quite as good as the hamburgers - order a Cheese Hot dog and they'll give you two slices of American cheese - who cares? This is a burger joint! The fries and onion rings are fantastic, and everything is affordable. Burgers are made quickly - think of it as a really high quality McDonalds, but with fresh beef instead of some Grade-D frozen patty - and limited patio seating is available.
The Barnes and Noble here is incorporated into the 5 story BU Bookstore. If you can't find it here, you haven't looked.
Here's a rundown of the offerings on each floor:
First Floor - Starbucks Cafe/Barnes & Noble (fiction + magazines)/BU Clothing and Gifts
Second Floor - Barnes and Nobles (non-fiction)/Restrooms
Third Floor - School and Office Supplies/Gifts and Cards/Dormshop = Furniture and Housewares
The Starbucks is associated with the Barnes & Noble which means it has a slightly different menu than a "regular" Starbucks.
As Boston's biggest Barnes & Noble and with the affiliation with BU, this location draws big-time authors in for readings. Check out the calendar on their website for who is coming to speak.
Textbook sales here are for Boston University, Boston Architectural Center and the Art Institute of Boston.
Thank you for your contribution. You've taken a huge step to making Povo the "word on the street,"
and we appreciate it very much. Because of the complexity of the "wiki text" and code that can be used
on Povo, in order to edit this section in the future you must click the "edit" button to the right of the section
heading (or for the whole page).
Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
Sometimes street view does not point exactly to the right place. You may need to "drive around" a bit.
