You thought the Howard Johnson's by the roadside was a thing of the past? Think again. Right in the shadow of Fenway Park is a Howard Johnson Motor Lodge, where you can stay for $145 and up a night. There is a pool, free high speed internet access and a restaurant in the complex.
Not for the faint of heart, Ramrod with its intense scene and its more traditional brother bar Machine serve as the venues for gay boys who yearn for either a taste of daddy's denim or an innocuous night of carousing among men. Both bars feature something exciting every night, but the offerings vary monthly. The Rod's MANDANCE (Su 9pm) is an extreme, crowded, scantily dressed mass of male flesh swaying to pumping house. For those looking for a quality mix of clean yet dirty fun, Machine hosts good ol' fashioned foam parties Saturday nights during the summer, and karaoke Thursdays year-round. Other events include pool tournaments and leather and bondage nights. The infamous Back Room promises even more uninhibited fun, but you can only get in if you're shirtless or wearing black leather or rubber. Beer $3.75-5, mixed drinks $3-4. Cover on M ($5), F ($8), Sa ($6).

This sports bar sits just on the edge of Fenway Park. If you can't get tickets to the game, you can watch it from the roof deck here with it's mini version of the Green Monster and feel like your as close as you can get. It's got your classic bar food menu (wings, burgers, beers) and a friendly atmosphere. A great place to watch the game for the more traditional Fenway bar experience. The crowd here is generally a bit older than at Game On.
Housed within the HoJo's - this is the same venerable Hong Kong that you may know from Harvard Square. Scorpion bowls and all those other very strong, tropically influenced drinks are available along with the Chinese food.
