The dramatic ambience and fashionista crowd at Mantra almost overshadows the stunning French-Indian fusion cuisine served up my chef Thomas John but his classic culinary instincts and clever use of spices ultimately prevails at this fine-dining must where Boston’s Downtown Crossing and Theatre District intersect. The décor is breathtaking. This former bank from the 1800s has been transformed into an avant-garde masterpiece with its Italian marble walls and floors, halogen lights and saffron-colored silk drapery that makes seem like an experiential journey of the senses. Chain mail curtains and stepped tables evoke multiple rooms in the Beaux-Arts marble hall of the Old Colony Bank.
Tip: Gentlemen, the urinals are disguised as ice machines. Ladies, your privacy is secure: the glass is one-way.

Nestled in between the Downtown Crossing and Financial District neighborhoods of Boston, you will find The Good Life: full lunch/dinner/bar/lounge experience. Catering primarily to the business lunch during the day, when the sun sets The Good Life serves up delicious fare for dinner as one heck of a good time. The first level of the newly renovated and family owned establishment contains a bar and dining room but down one level is the Afterlife lounge: home to over 150 frozen vodkas (kept at 10°)and DJs spinning quality music from all genres most days of the week. The Good Life has a vodka for everyone. From flavored, potato, and regular distilled, they are primarily from countries like Russia, Poland, and Antarctica. However, you can even find quality American vodka in their growing collection. The full dinner menu is also available in the Afterlife lounge.
Although mostly known for serving up fun times, sophisticated cocktails, and nightly entertainment, The Good Life also serves up interesting and appetizing fare. Open for lunch and dinner, the menu consists of everything from the lauded tuna tartare and crispy salmon, to "not your mom's meatloaf", and classic fish and chips. They also have a variety of pizzas, sandwiches, appetizers, and sides.
The Good Life believes in supporting local artists by showcasing their art on the walls, which are available for purchase. Entertainment is a large part of the scene here with DJ's performing throughout the month. The music selection ranges from down tempo electronic, deep sexy house, mash ups, rock ‘n' roll, reggae, funk & soul, dub step, and hip hop. Private parties are a popular option as the Good Life can accommodate food, drink, and music for up to 200 people. Their Event Coordinator, Callie Laquidara, will prepare an event catered to your needs utilizing the Good Life's dynamic space. The downstairs Vodka Lounge is a more intimate setting and more suitable for larger groups. This area was created for a more private space with more of a cocktail and small plate backdrop. The upstairs dining room is the perfect location for smaller events.

You know the kid who got more attention growing up, who consequently became the favorite? That's the Public Gardens compared to its "ugly" counterpart, the Boston Common. Always pristine, always in everyone's wedding photos- this park is beautiful.
Manicured with the best flowers, and shrubbery sculpted weekly- The Public Gardens is the city's crown jewel of parks. Situated at the head of both Back Bay and Beacon Hill, the park offers a beautiful lake, the famous bronze ducks sculpture (from a great children's book), swan tours (big boat shaped like swans), a wonderful bridge, and small little fountains at the corners. The statues of note-worthy Bostonians gives the park a "larger-than-life" feel. The Public Garden has been compared to Oz. You almost feel comfortable enough to run around barefoot in the grass.
In the summer, you'll find musicians playing soft music. By fall, the leaves on the trees change and the park transforms into a picture-worthy playground. Set up a picnic, or just come to stroll. You won't be disappointed.

Need to impress a client? Meeting the girlfriends parents for the first time? Just got a raise or want to pop the question? Head on over to Grill 23 and do not forget to bring the black card. Fantastic room and fun but not crazy atmosphere. Dark wood and gas lights. Marble bathrooms with 1000 thread count water basin napkins. Great bread basket and great service. Kind of neat to watch them reset tables - the person that does it is almost like a magician in his own way! Grab a few drinks at Cuffs across the street, then stroll in here for a fine steak. Seriously, just get the steak even if the menu offers seafood. It's the steak you want. Did I mention the steak?
Grill23 & Bar offers a dynamic weekly menu. Visit the website to learn more about its history and the special events! From juicy porterhouses to lobster thermidor, there menu is inclusive and trustworthy. Try the truffle mac and cheese. In a town like Boston where the steakhouse market has become increasingly crowded with new additions like Boston Meat Market, K O Prime, and Mooo, Grill 23 stands the test of time by holding true to the traditions that were instilled when it opened almost 25 years ago.

The State Street Trust Building is the 75 Federal Street portion of the building. The Art Deco building was designed by Thomas M. James in 1929. [2]. In the late 1980s, the Boston Redevelopment Authority allowed for the elimination of smaller narrow streets to create larger building parcels. This is how an L-shaped parcel was created to make room for 101 Federal Street. The exterior surfaces of the 21 story building at 75 Federal consists of low relief figurative and floral bands on street level floors. The exterior also features bronze panel sculptures depicting finance, architecture and sculpture, agriculture, power and transportation .
The exterior of the 31 story building at 101 Federal features masonry construction clad with smooth Indiana limestone panels. The surfaces have 101 Federal has raised circles and brushed aluminum. The lobby features floors of black and dark red terrazzo, with zinc and brass dividers and marble inlays. 101 Federal features wood elevators.
