Drinks in this cool location come at a price with beers around $6-8, glasses of wine starting at $9 and mixed drinks around $8-10. Alibi offers bottle service as well. Artu is an Italian restaurant with locations in the North End and Beacon Hill. Their menu: lunch, dinner, and take out, is a collection of Italian favorites. It is simple, rustic, and priced in the moderate range. In addition, Artu has specials that change nightly. The Prince Street location is also a huge hangout and bar for North End patrons, while the Charles Street location is more of a place where Beacon Hillers go for a quick bite.

The Theatre District Mediterranean restaurant also features a great after-work bar. Portuguese, French, Spanish and Greek influences mingle with a little pasta and steak. Created by Davio's owner Steve DiFillippo, the top-tier décor at Avila sets the tone for a spectacular dining experience. Try the lamb souvlaki from Greece or the salt cod fritters from Spain or the onion soup from France. Also great for a quiet, and very tasty weekend brunch.

The Beacon Hill Bistro is a French and American restaurant in the Beacon Hill Hotel. For breakfast and lunch, the cuisine is Nouveau American while the dinner menu is unmistakably French with a focus on les fruit de mers. The wait staff is friendly and courteous and very helpful with the menu. Although the ambiance is good, guests sometimes find the decor heavy and the seating cramped, especially when the restaurant is busy and when large groups are involved. However, when empty on a weekday morning, the restaurant’s robust trimmings make the dining experience cozier. Given its setting and choice of cuisine, individual reactions have varied. Read detailed reviews. But most agree that this is one of those lovely restaurants that make Boston a favorite city for dining. Some highlights on the menu are the Artichoke Soup, Roasted Lamb Loin, and Coconut Mousse with Passion Fruit Sorbet and Lemongrass Basil Syrup. Though recommendations are to stick with the relatively standard seafood and meat entrees and stay away from inventive combinations such as the Stuffed Rabbit Loin with Pumpkin Risotto to avoid disappointment. To add, the restaurant has a full bar with an apt selection of aperitifs, spirits and liqueurs, so if you want to begin with a Campari and end with a nice single malt you won't be displeased. The restaurant is on the expensive side but serves as an ideal option for corporate dining and/or special events. However, despite some of its non-standard concoctions, the prices are never exorbitant as each entree is priced in the mid-twenties. In terms of location, the restaurant is a stone's throw from the Beacon Street side of Boston Common - close to the Common’s parking lot and the Park Street T-stop, but probably equidistant to the Charles Street T-stop, which is also on the Red Line. The BHP is an institution. Named "Boston's best dive bar" several years in a row, this is a must go to hole in the wall. During the day, the bar boasts an eclectic group of city folk that love to drink and hang out in a dark and musty bar. But at night, you will find the BHP crowded with recent college grads to mid-late 20 somethings looking for cheap drinks (they are here to be found) and a good time. Most crowded on the weekends post 10:30, the BHP, although dirty and crowded, gets into you and leave you coming back for more! Beers: $2-4 and mixed drinks $3-$5. CASH ONLY! Yes, they use plastic pints and cups, the floor can be sticky, and the bathrooms are highly questionable (Guys, there isn't a stall so hold your number two if you gotta go) but its one of the best dive bars in Boston and if you're looking for the snobby "Seen and Be Seen" place, the BHP isn't it. Its a true Boston bar with one goal in mind: gettin' drunk and having a story to tell later on.
