Founded in 1660, the Granary is the third oldest burying ground in Boston and is one of the stops on the Boston Freedom Trail. Granary Cemetery is the final resting place of some of the greatest names in American History. John Hancock, Paul Revere and Samuel Adams all share shady plots alongside the victims of the Boston Massacre.
Also the site of Elizabeth "Mother" Goose's grave. Believed by some to be "Mother Goose." It is unclear whether or not her body is buried under this stone or elsewhere in the cemetery. She married
Isaac Goose in 1693 and she died in 1758. Historians argue she was never from Boston in the first place. Others claim no one knows just who this Mother Goose person was. The issue has ruffled many feathers.
Thank you for your contribution. You've taken a huge step to making Povo the "word on the street,"
and we appreciate it very much. Because of the complexity of the "wiki text" and code that can be used
on Povo, in order to edit this section in the future you must click the "edit" button to the right of the section
heading (or for the whole page).
Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
Sometimes street view does not point exactly to the right place. You may need to "drive around" a bit.
