In the midst of Newbury Street's pretension lies a gem of a bar, home to cheap beer ($3-5), shots ($6-7), and cocktails ($6.50), as well as a rowdy, notably un-Newbury St. crowd. Named after the golden girl of The Great Gatsby, Daisy's has managed not only to stand the test of time but also to stay on top. Also known as the Dirty Flower, this cozy, wood-paneled space gets packed almost every night of the week with a mixed college and twenty-something crowd, all on the prowl. Sa nights are jammed, so come on time; expect lines on weekends in the summer and fall. Even Boston's pro athletes stop by from time to time. There's also a kitchen (sandwiches $6-9) with some well priced specials ($5). No cover.
