A former Howard Johnson hotel (therefore commonly referred to as "the HoJo"), this BU residence hall houses mostly sophomores and juniors. Most students live in three-person rooms with private bathrooms, though there are also limited singles and doubles. The majority of rooms have lofted beds, allowing for more floor space. Rooms are air conditioned.
The 8th floor features two study rooms (one silent) featuring great views of the surrounding area. It's even possible to see into Fenway Park, though the building is just far enough that it's hard to read the scoreboard.
The second floor houses the 575 branch of the Office of Residence Life. This is the headquarters for the Residence Director, who oversees the building, Resident Assitants (RAs), who supervise each floor, and the Residence Hall Association, which runs activities for residents.
The lobby features a security guard, who ensures that BU students follow the
guest policy, and a cafe where students can use dining and convenience points on their Terrier Cards.
The basement contains a laundry room in which students can use quarters or convenience points.
