The church of the Advent is one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in this area of the city. Not only gothic and imposing, the Church of the Advent is quite involved in the community as well. Offering several innovative programs such as Theology on Tap and Friends of the Advent to the younger 20- and 30-something Beacon Hill crowd, the church is doing its best to appeal to all groups in the city. The church was established in 1844 and is one of the finest examples of Anglo-Catholicism.
