If the Sistine Chapel had a diner, this would be it. The packed booths with paper tablecloths, an extensive menu of hearty Italian fare, and murals on the walls and ceiling combine to make Lucia a quick pit stop in the heart of the North End. Though more of a rowdy last supper than a romantic evening, the variety of Abbruzzese dishes (from the owner's hometown in Italy) are sure to provide something for everyone. The baked mozzarella and prosciutto appetizer is a house favorite, as is the gnocchi with veal and sun-dried tomatoes. Your waiter can help you pick from the list of formaggi, typically served after the second course, or feel free to head straight to dessert; the Amaretto and hazelnut cake ($6.25) is worth a try.
