This place has absolutely pristine oysters that you order individually off of something similar to a sushi menu. Kumamoto, Wellfleet, Bee's River...so many varieties of oyster to choose from, not to mention clams, crab claws and shrimp. Their lobster roll (the hot one, not the one with mayo which is served cold) is overflowing with the meat of 2 chick lobsters and drizzled with butter on brioche, served with Belgian twice-fried fries. Somewhat non-traditional but extremely delicious. The clam chowder is first rate, and every bowl is cooked to order. This North End hotspot has a great selection of champagnes and wines by the bottle and glass.

Such a fun date restaurant as you can share raw bar and a bottle of champagne.

Neptune has some of the best oysters I've ever had! I went with someone who loves oysters, but isn't used to having such a variety, and was very impressed. All the choices topped with the fantastic cocktail sauce, full of horseradish, add a bowl (or two) of clam chowder and a crisp glass of savignon blanc and I am in heaven. On the chowder: it is made to order! Not rich and think, but more soupy and chalk-full of clams and chunks of celery and onions - my new favorite in all of New England. On the place: it's tiny, but that makes it so great. They don't take reservations, but you can call ahead and put your name on the list. On the staff: everyone is friendly and full of oyster knowledge. Ask for Kari and Alex.
