Children's Hospital Boston is one of the United States best children's hospitals. They have been ranked #2 in this year's U.S. News and World Report's study of the nation's best hospitals. Children's Hospital has almost 400 beds and strives to provide top quality care to children ages newborn through 21 year. According to their website, the hospital performs over 22,000 surgeries every year! Children's hospital is also known for it's research program- which happens to be one of this country's largest pediatric reseach centers. Children's Hospital is affiliated with Harvard Medical School -and is therefore a teaching hospital. Children's Hospital Boston has been in existance for about 130 years, and actually began it's life in the South End of Boston. The hospital is known for it's many advances in medicine. Children's is actually planning an expansion to their already huge facility, within the next ten years.
