MY BOSTON ON POVO
- I'm studying journalism at Boston University in the College of Communication and live in the Kenmore/Fenway neighborhood.
- This summer, I'm interning at The Jewish Advocate. In the past, I've worked for Teen Voices and The Beacon Hill Times/The Back Bay Sun. Last semester, I studied and interned abroad in London - it was fantastic.
- I love to read! I check out books from the Boston Public Library in Copley Square and, when the weather is nice, I relax outside in the Public Garden or other parks near my apartment.
- During the school year, one of my favorite things to do is cheer on the BU Terriers men's hockey team at Agganis Arena. We've got the best fans around. At BU, I also write for the Daily Free Press, volunteer with the Community Service Center and serve as secretary of the People Watching Club. I've also started helping out with the Red Sox Green Team, a recycling program at Fenway Park.
- I really enjoy watching bands play live. One of my favorite places to go is practically on campus - the Paradise Rock Club and Lounge. For free entertainment, I walk around Faneuil Hall, where great bands like Cahill play almost every day. Two other awesome local singers are Tim Blane and Chad Perrone.
- As a college student, I'm all about finding things that are free. My proudest acquisition is my futon, which I got on the Craigslist "free stuff" website. I also try to catch free movie screenings, advertised online and on Facebook.
