Tags are simply sets of keywords that users can associate with specific listings that help others find them based on their interests. You’ll see the list of tags running horizontally across the bottom of each listing. They’re easy to add and you don’t need to register. For example, if you know that a restaurant has wifi access, then you might want to add the tag “wifi”.
To change the tags, simply click on the “Change tags” button. An edit box will appear populated with the tags currently associated with the listing. Make your edits, add new tags, or delete existing tags that you feel are not appropriate. Then hit the “save” button and the new tags will reflect the changes you made.
Povo also provides the ability to create synonyms for tags which allow one Tag to be "redirected" to another Tag. For example, the tag Tag:Restaurant is a synonym for Tag:Restaurants. There are many reasons to do this, the most important being to stop people from having to think of every possible way one might say the same thing. In order to do a redirect, you go to the tag page, which is:
http://www.povo.com/Tag:[name of tag here]
For example, http://www.povo.com/Tag:Restaurant
On that page, you simply put the command to redirect that tag page to another tag. For example:
#REDIRECT [[Tag:Restaurants]]
