Located at the
World Trade Center, Foley Hoag is an acknowledged regional, national and international dispute-resolution powerhouse, and our lawyers are equally adept at large-scale complex patent litigation; at defending individuals or entities charged with business crimes, securities violations, or professional liability claims; and at safeguarding the business viability of emerging companies. Our corporate practice excels in deal-making, bringing market savvy to our clients’ opportunities, and always on the lookout for how best they can gain a competitive edge.
The founders of Foley Hoag had a deep commitment to public and community service which they instilled solidly into the firm’s culture. More than thirty years ago, the firm established one of the first formal pro bono programs in the U.S. as an integral part of our lawyers’ practices. Foley Hoag continues its strong commitment to its pro bono program today.
Our lawyers provide representation on a pro bono basis in virtually every area of legal practice. The program is unique in both its long history and in the wide range of matters on which our lawyers deliver much-needed legal services to individuals and groups who would otherwise be unrepresented. Pro bono representation is treated no differently from the firm’s billable work for paying clients in terms of both quality and effort expended. We are committed to devoting to pro bono work on an annual basis the equivalent of at least 5% of the time spent by our lawyers on regular billable work. In recent years, we have exceeded 5%. We are also proud signatories to the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge.
