This is a local grocery store with a difference. Formally the location of Bread & Circus - the Whole Foods company bought them up. Great produce and cheeses. Bakery turns out luscious items daily - try their vegan scones (I know sounds awful, but quite tasty). The store brand 365 is actually quite affordable. Whole Foods will also deliver your order (within a certain radius of the store). There is a enormous salad bar, sushi offerings and hot bar with daily specials so you can come in to pick up lunch then sit in the section with the tables in the front window or the outdoor tables. Large variety of prepared entrees and salads too.

Yummy ice-cream year-round in Boston's Back Bay. Samples are unlimited and flavors are ever-changing and often seasonal. In the winter- B&Js has "hot icecream" treats- such as Ice-Cream hot chocolate. When walking at night, don't let the life-sized Ben and Jerry scare you as they gaze onto Newbury Street. The shop also carries lip balm and other fun gifts.

Bromfield Camera Co., a family owned and operated camera store for over 42 years and winner of the CBS4 2006 and 2007 Best Camera store in Boston Award because of their outstanding customer service, competitive prices, and outstanding product knowledge. Located in Downtown Crossing they have won numerous better business bureau awards as well as being voted as Boston's Best by both the The Improper Bostonian Magazine and the Tab newspaper. The store, located just steps from Downtown Crossing and Park Street, offers a vast selection of new and used digital cameras and video equipment. Herb Chambers Honda, located in Allston, is part of the greater Herb Chambers car dealership empire, that expands all over the state of Massachusetts. Herb Chambers Honda serves the residents of Boston in offering a wide variety of new and pre-owned vehicles ranging from Toyota's to Land Rover's, to Jeeps and Vespa's.

This liquor store is the closest to Northeastern University, Wentworth Institute Of Technology, and New England Conservatory. As such, it's also one of the strictest stores around. Huntington Wine and Spirits won't accept out of state licenses without credible photo backup. If you only have an out of state identification card (not a license), be prepared to produce your passport instead.

The selection is pretty decent: beer--cans, bottles, a decent range of good beer, plenty of wine--one or two fridges chilling champagne, whites, and roses, and the majority of liquor behind the counter.

They also carry most mixers, and have container of limes and nips on the counter. There's sure to be a line on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, as well as before any major sports games.

The store is a redemption center for bottles and cans, and also offers delivery services with a simple phone call. Additionally, they will buy back unused products--if you're throwing a huge party, you can buy more than enough with no fear of being stuck with all the extra. Corporate accounts are also available. The store has occasional wine, beer, and liquor tastings as well! Now open Sundays from 12-8.

One especially lovely feature: get 20% off when buying 5 bottles of wine. It's like getting one bottle for free! Great if you want to stock up, or just because...

Although the store is hardly crowded, its a head scratcher to why there is the beefed up security at Intermix. There is a always a security guard at the door to keep an eye on the inventory. To it's defense, Intermix does have pricey uber-trendsetting clothing.

UPDATE: The Tannery, a high-end clothing shop, is slotted to open at 711 Boylston sometime in 2009. Restoration Hardware unfortunately closed its doors in the Back Bay on May 17, 2008. However, the Restoration Hardware location in the Atrium Mall remains open.

Recently relocated from its small Newbury Street location to the Prudential Center, this Best of Boston winner sells designer-worthy clothing. The location is larger than the original Newbury Street location and carries all that you need to be dressed to the nines. It's hipster fashion ... with an edge. Owner Betty Riaz supports local designers like Stephanie Doucette, a UMASS grad and former bartender at the rock club Paradise, who recently launched a spring line of dresses and jackets under the Doucette Duvall moniker.

Stroller and baby friendly, the crew at the Red Wagon makes everyone feel welcome. Beware: your credit card might get a good workout here.

Glass-paneled walls, high angular ceilings, and pseudo-marble floors might make you think you're inside some sort of futuristic Apley Court. “The Pru” has the essentials (except a music store) for the binging shopaholic: restaurants, an expansive food court, and the traditional fashion staples. Mainstays include Lacoste Boutique Boston, Club Monaco, Express Men, and Ann Taylor, and while these shops aren't as hoity-toity as those at the adjoining Copley Place, the massive Saks Fifth Avenue keeps them at least somewhat toity. Also crowding the wide and spotless corridors of the mall are more than 20 novelty carts offering everything from Elvis ties to Mickey Mouse socks—basically nothing you'd actually want to buy—plus 12 free Internet kiosks. The Pru also features the most accessible Cheesecake Factory at Prudential Center, another Legal Seafoods, and Top of the Hub.

There are also spots for bicycle parking in the Orange level of the parking garage.

Kerri Platt is the owner of this shop, in which you will find six or seven thousand bottles of wine. The wine runs a wide range of price, from $7 to hundreds of dollars. The philosophy is that there are very good wines that are inexpensive, and they seek out excellent deals as well as hard-to-find vintages. This is the kind of place where you can walk in and say that you're not ready to purchase anything, but had some questions. They'll take the time to answer anything, as the staff are extremely knowledgeable. With this kind of focus on quality and education, you will want to come back time after time and quit wasting your money on bottles of wine that don't make the grade. Bonus: free wine tastings every Friday from 5pm to 8pm.

Gauche status symbols galore. The label “Designed Exclusively for Tiffany” tags some of the most precious jewelry known to humankind, but the best thing Tiffany ever had going for it was Holly Golighty. Today, the store is bathed in cold light and guarded by no-nonsense, stiff-suited attendants who separate the oglers from the real buyers. Even worse, especially for male shoppers dragged inside by their wide-eyed girlfriends, the store does not carry replicas of Tiffany's famous Vince Lombardi (Super Bowl) Trophy.

Who we are Turtle (n.) A first-of-its-kind boutique in Boston's South End devoted to:

Boomerangs is the re-sale store run by the AIDS Action Committee. You can find clothing, furniture, home goods, CDS, movies, and lots of other stuff all gently used and available "new to you." The stock changes all the time, so you need to stop in often. The store windows on Centre Street change often too - and are really public art pieces more than retail tools. They cleverly feature items on sale but in unusual tableaus. Proceeds from the store support the work of the AIDS Action Committee.

You can make donations of goods around at the back of the store - but please only during the set hours (otherwise you are subject to a fine for illegal dumping). Donations are also taken at the Boomerangs Donation Center at the Brewery Complex. And they will come and pick-up furniture -- call to discuss details.

Chic but casual crowd. The boutique in front sets the tone for a very upscale, but relaxed place. Offering cute and trendy jeans, shoes, and fun frocks during the day, and a lounge with tasty small plates, Wii, and guitar hero in the back. The execution of the idea is a little off since the TV's are high up near the ceiling, and you have to constantly look upwards to play the Wii, but it really is an awesome touch that gives the place a soft touch. Clothes and cocktails? What more could you ask for? Overall, this is just the type of place that Boston needs...and what better place for such a creative concept than Fort Point Channel.
