Having celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2003, the Majestic is the second-oldest theater in Boston's Theater District. It was reopened by Emerson College in 1989 as the first Broadway-quality stage owned and operated by a college. The Majestic hosts professional groups like the Boston Lyric Opera as well as near-professional quality (but much less expensive) productions by Emerson students and the New England Conservatory. Ticket prices range widely and some rush tickets are available. Wheelchair-accessible. Purchase tickets at the box office, online at www.telecharge.com or at 800-233-3123.
This section contains information from Harvard Student Agencies' Unofficial Guide to Life at Harvard.
The Majestic was also recently renovated (around the time of its anniversary) and brought back to its former glory.

Bar
Look up “dive bar” in the dictionary and you’ll find a picture of The Tam. Because of its central proximity in the Theatre District, the “Classic Neighborhood American Bar” attracts a bizarre assortment of booze-soaked regulars, theatergoers, Combat Zone veterans and Emerson students looking to snag one of the joint’s reasonably priced pints. Beers are as low as $1.25 for a Busch draft. Great place for a random conversation with a stranger while drinking a beer at 8 am.
Hours: Mon.-Wed. 8 am-1 am, Thu.-Sat. 8 am-2 am, Sun. Noon-1 am
The Intermission Tavern offers a wide selection of delicious food and drinks in a theatrical-themed atmosphere. The tavern is sprinkled with posters of Theatre District shows from the past.
Also known as "New Shanghai" (that's how they answer the phone) Shanghai Cafe offers gourmet Chinese cuisine from different regions of China prepared with the "finest ingredients" (their laguage). Located close enough to Chinatown to boast authenticity and centrally accessible to please the Theatre District crowd, this top-notch Chinese establishment also boasts karaoke. Deliveries outside their small circle (such as the South End) have a small delivery charge ($4?)and often take 45+ mins. They are consistent in quality.

Subway
If you're going to do fast food, opt for the healthier alternative. Located in the heart of the Theatre District, this Subway is a regular haunt for Emerson students and theater-goers looking for a quick bite to eat. One of the few fast-food options in this regentrified part of town, the Tremont Street location boasts a cleaner-than-average store and decent arsenal of sit-down tables. Great selection of hot sandwiches and low-fat wraps. And the bread is baked fresh daily.
Thank you for your contribution. You've taken a huge step to making Povo the "word on the street,"
and we appreciate it very much. Because of the complexity of the "wiki text" and code that can be used
on Povo, in order to edit this section in the future you must click the "edit" button to the right of the section

Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
Sometimes street view does not point exactly to the right place. You may need to "drive around" a bit.
