Designer silks swish to-and-fro past the plush, upholstered chairs and leafy potted plants. This emblematic restaurant and lounge within Boston's famously posh Four Seasons serves as a more casual hangout for wealthy patrons than the stellar Aujourd'hui. The menu, however, is nothing less than professionally executed. Start with their Maine lump crabcakes, then proceed to their signature Bristol burger, which is worth every bit of its $17 price-tag. Entrees range from $15-27. Daily specials, which often feature fresh seafood, are another delectable albeit expensive option ($35). Dessert here could be a whole meal unto itself; brace yourself for the gigantic slice of triple layer chocolate fudge cake with raspberry coulis. And if you're feeling especially pretentious, drop in for a spot of tea-, complete with scones, tea sandwiches, tea bread, and pastries, daily from 3-4:30.
Great Views of the Boston Public Gardens and the beautiful swan boats, people watching, tea with friends, drinks after work at the chic new bar, a cozy table by the fireplace on a cold winter night, friendly service.... What more could you possibly want out of a restaurant?

Aujourd'hui is closing on June 27th; afterward it will only be available for private functions[1]
Forget Rialto when you really want to lay it on thick, head to Aujourd'hui. Perched above the Public Garden in the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel, Aujourd'hui's old-money-coated dining room and immaculate service make every customer feel like royalty (probably because most of them are). The food follows through as well, with a constantly changing menu that never falls flat (entrees $30+). Don't miss the lobster bisque with butternut squash; the rabbit is especially succulent. Reservations required, and although jacket no longer is required for service, it is highly suggested.

This Park Plaza location is the flagship of the dessert king. Catering to the Park Plaza Hotel and the hungry Theatre District, this truly is a place to indulge yourself in something sweet. Consistently rated one of the top date locales in the city, and with various other locations in the Boston area, Finale knows that it is surely doing something right.

Radius's team of hipster restaurateurs score yet again with this tastefully mod and highly authentic Italian experiement, which offers diners a choice of top-drawer food and drinks in one of four settings. Try the white-walled main dining room, the outdoor terrace, the late-night bistro and pizzeria, or the bar—a perfect place to meet dates for after-hours drinks. The restaurant offers a host of generously-portioned Italian regional specialties, like the phenomenal Fresh Pappardelle with Long Island duck, dried cherries, and rosemary ($19), but those in a drinking-and-snacking kind of mood should hit the bar for specialty drinks, scene-making, and lightly crunchy risotto balls ($10). The mostly upscale 30-something crowd packs this place nightly, so call for reservations.

Two large concrete stallions greet patrons at this classy Theatre District restaurant. The ambience at P.F. Chang's China Bistro is contemporary Asian with a traditional Chinese twist. Regulars rave about the menu with its tasty orange-peel beef and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce. Foodies also enjoy the bistro’s presentation which includes table-side service where sous chefs prepare the restaurant’s signature sauces and eclectic Asian flavors. Also, their wine selection is excellent.

On par with upscale chains like Legal Seafood and P. F. Chang's, red and brassy Maggiano's comes without the intimacy and personality of North End restaurants, but it routinely draws throngs seeking its enormous portions of delicious southern Italian food. Groups of 4 can choose a 5-course feast from the “family style menu” for a bargain at $20 each, but a mere half-portion of a single entree like linguine with chicken and pesto (half $12/full $15) will undoubtedly leave leftovers. Other great options include Tuscan-style mussels ($7/$11), homemade gnocchi in tomato vodka sauce ($12/$15), and baked shrimp organata ($23). Weekly specials on Th. Reservations highly recommended.

The Jacob Wirth Restaurant has been a Boston favorite since 1868.
While Jacob Wirth's is Boston's only German restaurant and beer hall, it's a pretty authentic one. While an odd mix of regulars and theatergoing out-of-towners fill the airy dining hall's communal tables, area workers pack the front bar area to watch sports and enjoy bargain happy hour food specials. Friday nights attract exceptionally boisterous crowds for a giant sing-along that's driven by a live pianist. They have a whole book of lyrics for anyone (old and new) who inclines to join. They're hardcore!
Check the restaurant's website for its weekly specials (three-course meals on Sundays for $20, all-you-can-eat pasta on Tuesdays for $10). Not to mention the beer club! No dues, no hassles, good people, great beer.

Dining. drinking. lounging. in style. Located in the heart of the theatre district, Caprice offers a tantalizing menu with unique French Mediterranean flair. Forget about finding a place to park when the Wang Center has a show--pricey lots and the T are your best bets.
Spee members will feel right at home at Caprice, which attracts a chic international crowd. Come here to schmooze and be seen in one of 3 separate bar areas. A DJ spins downstairs W-Sa at 10:30pm; for a more laid-back atmosphere, head to their 2 pool tables upstairs ($20/hr) or lounge in comfy chairs by the huge front windows. Super-expensive drinks (wine $8+, beer $6, mixed drinks $10+) make Caprice the place to come once you've landed that cushy I-banking job. Brazilian/Latin Su, “Buddha Lounge” M. Appropriate dress required. No cover.
